Manufacturing Jobs and Tariffs and Taxes
We must all remember President Trump is Resetting the Entire World Economy as he promised to do, and trying to bring back Manufacturing & Jobs to America, so please be patient as he not only Battles Our Enemies, Allies & Friends, and most of the Political Elites, Wall Street, Bankers, and Companies who love the Cheap Labor and High Profits they have at present but have almost destroyed Our Nation and Freedoms in doing so, as they Ship Millions of Middle Class Jobs to China and Closed our Factories and Hopes for a Future.
We hear about how the legislation of 2017 taxed what some call Average Americans, and quite frankly I’ve never met an average American, as I’ve found everyone I’ve met over the yrs. isn’t exactly the same, but it’s nice to know the Politicians, Press etc. say we are
The Tax Code that was Passed in 2017 is still in Effect, however won’t be if they don’t at the very least Extend it and I’d personally prefer they make it Permanent along with the new Addition President Trump campaigned on.
Was it Legal & When did the government start taxing income & Why?
In the spring of 1895, the United States Supreme Court declared the federal income tax invalid, explaining that it exceeded Congress's powers to levy duties as defined in Article 1, Section 9 of the Constitution.
But in October of 1913 Congress enacted an income tax as part of the Revenue Act of 1913, levying a 1% tax on net personal incomes above $3,000, with a 6% surtax on incomes above $500,000. By 1918, the top rate of the income tax was increased to 77% (on income over $1,000,000, equivalent of $16,717,815 in 2018 dollars).
The establishment of the federal income tax, through the 16th Amendment, in 1913, was crucial for the passage of Prohibition because it allowed the government to replace the significant revenue previously generated from alcohol taxes, making Prohibition politically feasible.
After the Sixteenth Amendment was ratified, the Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the income tax laws. Brushaber v. Union Pacific R.R., 240 U.S. 1 (1916). Since then, courts have consistently upheld the constitutionality of the federal income tax.
It seems the more time that passes since we’ve become a Nation how many Times the Supreme Court changes judges and then we get different Rulings on the same Issues, looks like Politics does play a part in how they decide, it’s truly unfortunate that the Courts don't follow the Original Intent of those who Authored it and the History surrounding it and then just possibly we’d have a Government that would be much more like the One we had to begin with.
I hope all of us will exercise the Patience and Support for President Trump and realize there may be a temporary cost for us now, but remember our Nation wasn’t created in a Day and this effort won’t be fixed in just a couple of weeks as well, but we’re on the Road to Victory and Not Defeat with a Future for All of US and Future Generations, so hold on tight for the Ride as we all Make History Together.
God Bless You All; Clair Van Steenwyk
